Discovery sport 2015 onwards

Change in circumstances means I must look at a smaller vehicle from my current FFR L322. Many hours looking at the various media relating to the Discovery Sport ( around 2015-2016 used ). Any one like to chip in with their thoughts ? Brilliant-OK, SO So- Nightmare.

Would be a diesel auto.

Probably the right engine if it’s the 2.2. Not the early ingenium unit.

I have only ever had them as loan cars and had to have the seat right back and right down on its adjustment. Then I hit my elbow on the central console arrangement. If you are not long legged and of shorter variety, probably not an issue.
They drove nice enough, but it was not really for me.

Earlier ones will also have potential for the steering rack to have problems, alloy bolts which shear off?

I vaguely remember seeing some post from C-T-Craig about DS's and about what to look out for, I may be wrong.

Have you thought about finding a late low mileage FL2?

Freelander2 is a much better solution in my mind.
Better built.

We had a MY17 DSport from new, great car but fuel dilution is the worst, buy a petrol.

We'll be selling our 2.2 Disco Sport HSE shortly, if its of interest

Specifically bought, as its the 2.2 model. The 2.0 Ingenium suffers from timing chain issues, oil leaks, oil pump issues, oil dilution problems and DPF issues

All pre 2017 DS have an extended warranty on the steering racks, due to fractured bolts

A late model Freelander 2 with good spec is what I’d consider in your position. I had a 2.2 SD4 HSE from new in 2011. Well made, usable load space and apart from one minor software gremlin dealt wit under warranty, it was faultless. I think the later ones with good spec were badged as ‘Metropolis’ and had loads of kit. The 2.2 engine is bombproof

Same here, in fact, we do have one too, fully loaded and autoboox, and it's been great. That's our second FL2 and we would not change it for a Disco Sport as it doesn't bring much more. l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Currently have a 2007 and would love to move up a few years but no longer prepared to pay £600 a year road tax !

Spain 2012 Range Rover Westminster TDV8 Baltic Blue

A friend of ours ran an earlyish Disco Sport for quite a while and raved about it, and he's a proper car guy.

Another friend has an FL2, 2009 with 130k and it's doing a sterling job - the owner loves it and won't sell it. I've driven it and although different to an L322, has many good qualities.
