Intermittent handbrake fault

Hi guys, I'm getting an intermittent fault code on my electronic handbrake which is causing me to get serious brake judder under light and heavy breaking. Nothing flashes up on the dash but shows up on the Gap Id tool and I keep forgetting to log the code. Once I reset it and then drive a few metres holding the handbrake switch up, the brake judder does get better but it's still there but ever so slightly. Would a seized caliper cause this judder or warped discs? I drove to Bristol this morning and checked the wheels when I arrived at the office to see if any of them were hot, which none of them seemed to be. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last 2 weeks, so would rather get it sorted sooner than later. Any help on this would be great. Thanks in advance.

I can’t offer much other than the calliper isn’t part of the handbrake- they have handbrake shoes inside the rear disc so might be worth looking in there 2007 TDV8 Vogue SE

Could one of the brake shoe holding pins be broken or displaced leaving the shoe too close to the drum? Jack the rear end up and apply the handbrake on and off to see if it's releasing properly. Any grinding noises? Rotten back plates?
As TDV8 Paul says, they are two independent systems.

I'm such a div, I forgot about brake shoes. Well I dropped it off at mj fews I've heard they are great company to deal with, for them to sort while I'm away abroad, so should be sorted by next week. No grinding, just major brake judder. Thanks for your help guys.

You can put the handbrake into service mode and then use it to correctly bed the shoes, this might alleviate any crud that's built up in there.

LR recommend doing it after driving through mud Christian.

Got the car back today from MJ Fews, turns out it had cheap discs and pads fitted by the previous owner. Discs were seriously warped and a bit of crud on the shoes. They fitted new Brembo discs and pads, cleaned all the calipers and now is well and brakes so much better. The fronts are slightly warped too but I will get them done another time. Shout out to MJ Fews, what an excellent indy to deal with, I think they will be my chosen indy as they are close to my office and I can leave the car with them while I'm abroad working, fantastic service. Got them to do an oil and filter change as well while they was at it.
