I just did pads & discs replacement, what a trial that has been. RH caliper lower pin siezed but after a lot or work on the bench managed to get that out, Remember to buy a pad kit when you do it, you pretty much have to destroy the pins to get them out.

That little episode took me 5 hours,

On the LH side, same thing, but got the pins out much faster, but the wear sensor just fell apart when I tried to remove it and sheered a bleed nipple, still trying to work it out, but most likely it's done for and I'll need to spend a heap for a new caliper and the cars now off the road.

Anyone know where I can get a second hand LH 6 pot caliper in RR grey LR016661 ?

I've done a search of fleabay etc, cheapest I can find is over £300 for a new one, that may be my only option.

Might be worth contacting Big Red? They seem to be a one stop brake shop, refurb, parts etc. Can't hurt to ask if you're not needing to be on the road tomorrow?

I had both my front 6 pot calipers refurbished/reconditioned by Bigg Red - fantastic service and very chuffed, brakes were like new again !



I would definitely use them again, in fact that has reminded me to get the rear calipers off my 1972 Jensen Interceptor for them to work their magic on those bad boys

Managed to find a good looking one off EBAY for just £95.

I did ask for quotes from a couple of recommissioners but they didn't come back to me yet and I don't want the car off the road till they could get it done and I doubt they'd be able to match that price.

So far so good, will see what turns up.

In this day and age, everywhere.

If you not open for business then your not open for business, and you've lost that sale.

Britain needs to accept that fact and stop this unions mentality or lose out and go out of business.

Sad fact, but something that has plagued this country since the 70s and we are learning nothing generation after generation, that's why we cannot compete on the world stage, it's simple laziness and prices in this country, that's just simple greed.
