TDV8 4.4 oil filter wrong part?

The new Mahle OX153/7D2 is not the same as the one in there

Seems about the same overall length but when fitted to the filter housing it sticks out about 10mm more. Refitted the old filter for now. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I am always surprised by how much the filter on the right in your photo sticks out of the bowl , but I have used that type many times and it always works fine when torqued down to 27 Nm.

Thanks. Does the filter housing adjust to the different lengths via the torque setting?
Old filter only has 4k miles on it as I changed the oil due to the service indicator which I’d presumed the garage had forgotten to reset but after doing this in my GAP IID I’m still getting service due on the dash? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

The spring tensioner is in the bottom of the housing.

Mike.
Are you sure you are resetting the service warning correctly ?

I’m guessing the flow of oil is up the centre and drains back down the sides? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
