Anyone know someone working at Main Dealer?

My L322 was in small accident. Rear bumper was damaged however it has been changed to an Overfinch style.
Body shop say the insurance will only approve OEM bumper replacement.
They say they need an invoice for an OEM bumper and I can sort the difference myself.

Was the accident your fault? Or are you claiming on your own insurance?

When I worked for a main stealer bodyshop years ago we had a couple of cars where it took ages to track down aftermarket bumpers the same as what had been fitted previously. They were all other-driver-at-fault accidents though. 2010 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black

Good point there Alan, when I insured my overfinch it just showed up as an VSE, yet on the insurance database it showed up as an overfinch. A phone call to the insurance company to inform them it is an overfinch, they decided to lighten my wallet of £86.

The insurance have assessed and given the go ahead for the work.

A written quote might be a good idea.
It’s just to prove the body shop supplied and fitted a new bumper.

If you declared the mod at insurance renewal it should be covered. Thats all part of devising an appropriate premium.

If the mod was not declared you've taken your chances and lost I'm afraid. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

I’ll elaborate a little more on this.
The bumper/kit fitted (I purchased vehicle with it), is cheaper than an OEM bumper.

The insurance company have approved a new OE rear bumper etc.

So the cost difference will be used to do a little tidy up/repair to the front bumper (not accident related) at no cost to myself.

I'm assuming they have authorised an OE replacement.
I'm going by what the bodyshop have advised.

I just supplied photos and the rest was taken care of.

I planned to have the front bumper sorted in Spring but after the accident the bodyshop are doing it all in one hit.
