United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Santorini Black

So, I have finally put the car back together and the fan is working… except I hear and feel a vibration at high fan speeds! Big Cry

I hadn’t yet put the drivers side panels back on, so had a look and the fan to see if I could feel any play… and spotted the problem. I’d snapped one of the fan blades Censored

It works, so am considering how and when to tackle that. At least the dismantle of the dash will be quicker 2nd time round Very Happy Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

I don't envy you doing that at all mate. Keep the pictures coming though.

Yep, I’ve taken pictures of every stage. I’ll post them when I’m next on my computer. I may write up a wiki page… depends if anything else is there for dismantling the dash. We will see… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

yep nearly there the two vents below come off and the facia with the start stop button comes off then the plastic tubes just pull out, might come out easier if you squeeze them lengthways? then the jeep grill type thing unscrews the hardest screw is the one on the right as you look at it. how are your hands looking? then three spring clips and the front panel of the fan folds towards you and comes out

Cheers brerfox. I didn’t remove the jeep looking grill thing. I could undo one screw, but didn’t have access to the other screw. I looked as what would move when undone, but it looked like I’d have hassle with two metal hooks/bars that control the vents. They went down and access to unhook/rehook looked really tricky. With that I didn’t remove any more trim for that other screw.

Also, that part still had the plastic ducts that travel to the side vents. They are held in with a screw under the dash I couldn’t get to… did you remove that duct?

In hindsight, I probably should have persevered with it, as you have done it, and probably wouldn’t have broken that fan leg. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

I had an issue I didn’t notice last time. My airbag warning light was on, and wouldn’t clear…
Balls. I know I reconnected the airbag… so I must have damaged something. I’m thinking one of the wires in that loom!!!

So, off comes the battery earth again (yay, I get to reset my clocks, radio, and windows again!), I strip the two glove boxes again to double check, again, I hadn’t missed anything.. Everything looks good, nothing trapped, damaged or loose. I’ve then got that sickly feeling as I consider it must be that loom…
Before going any further, I give the yellow cable clip a wiggle and squeeze, and… click! Shocked
You bCensoredd!

So the car gets put back together, battery connected, and BOOM, warning gone! What a relief!!!

Panic now over! Now where’s that beer… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Unfortunately there is an odd number of legs, and not that many so don’t see that as an option in this case!

I still have my old blower and it’s fan blades are fine. I may see if those blades can be removed… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

This is the culprit. It appeared to be connected, but needed an extra squeeze…

After using the car a few times I have not noticed any issues with the blower, despite those cracked fan “legs”. So I plan to leave it unless it becomes an issue in the future. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8
