You have the option to start FBH via the app? I can only start the engine via the app. Which as above is a really poor way of warming the vehicle up. I need to buy an FBH fob really. FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

From an earlier comment, I think the app uses the engine rather than the FBH. What do I put here then?

Yup via the LR Remote App - 100% only starts only the FBH and even warns you in the app you can only do it once per engine start. This is on a MY16 EURO6 Autobiography. Sounds like they changed it later on to start the engine.

The App and the fob do exactly the same thing for us, hence we have never used the fob.

What a shame they changed it! The wording on mine now simply says "Engine will start to power climate". Wish they'd left it to run the FBH only! Rolling Eyes FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

I used to have a c350e and that used to power up the electric heaters and the heated seats via the app, now that was the dream. Shame the rest of the car was crap. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Well looking at my owners manual it states -- "When the auxiliary heater is operating, exhaust fumes from the heater may be visible exiting from under the front of the vehicle. " So my theory of emission control, is maybe not correct after all, which is strange Why have strict Euro 6 controls but allow such FBH uncontrolled emissions? Rolling with laughter

Also found this interesting link describing how to work the FBH via phone, it may be of interest to you?

Mine is also a EURO 6 and allows it to be started remotely Thumbs Up

The exhaust looks the same on them all looking at the parts catalog, maybe just a change in control module. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Interesting comments all round. All I can say is its a big disappointment when you want t ahot car to go out to and its only took the chill of it!

Still could do with knowing how to change the "Hi" setting to blower 7 not just 2...... maybe I cant if thats how it heats the car on pre-heat.....love the car otherwise! all smug in my new plug!

In climate settings there are these options---

Auto air flow: The blower speed for automatic operation can be set to Soft and Quiet, Balanced, or Powerful and Fast.

Maybe this is worth a fiddle with Laughing 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

So just tried the Remote app to start climate, set target to 22C and the Engine started automatically, all doors etc remained double locked.

After a minute or so I heard a click and observed exhaust from FBH at right wheel arch area it wasn't much just whisping away! Wow!! never knew I had this fitted, but to be honest never really needed it this winter Rolling with laughter

I waited a minute and then unlocked car and already could feel hot air from vents. The dash and upper Duo screen had following images.

Very quick to warm up, faster than just using the engine alone, and it will help with warming up the engine faster as well.

So I dont have a key fob and dont have timed climate settings either, but I am more than happy with the Remote app version

So to be clear, MY18 SDV8 and onwards (I presume) The Remote app 100%, starts the Engine then about 1 min later the FBH starts as well. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
