Not sure it would Stan,

MontPeillier is just west of Aix, so it’s in the right direction. Possibly calculates as an hour extra but factor in Paris traffic and it is probably about the same…. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Those directions get you to the Novotel Lyon.

That is what I would do, and have done many years. Route du Soleil. Way faster than anything else, both from the UK and The Netherlands. But perhaps not the scenic one, more a route to just get there.

I'm going back up that way this summer. We are first going to Austria to visit a music festival, then drop down to Italy and stay on the Côte d'Azur to relax and going up. But we are taking the EV so that should be interesting charging experiences.

@Stan, enjoy you holidays. I took a risk last summer and we went to Cyprus and travel was still hard. But oh so nice to get away. Viva le France mon cherie Rolling with laughter

Exactly that, it is way faster. But we tend to just keep the engine running and swap every two hours and just drive through the night Smile

The dog question is of interest to me, as the last time I was in the EU via the tunnel, just as Covid was breaking out everywhere (Feb 2020) it was the old pet passport system. I bet its a nightmare now with the French etc I read you cant even bring your own pet food into France Rolling with laughter

Maybe you need a new thread Stan, on this subject. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I think a lot depends on what route you are coming back across. We came Dieppe - Newhaven 9 December last and, apart from Immigration who nodded us through as they had all our info from the passenger locator form, there were no checks and no sign of Customs.
Things may change in July when, as I understand it. more regulations come into force John

For the dog you have to think three or four months in advance .\
You get the rabies shot at -3 months
At month zero you have to get an antibody test. That’s your first £100.00 or so

Then you get a very long drawn out health cert/vet cert for the dog ,ours cost £150.00 some pay 200, You shell that out every trip

As regular visitors we put the dog onto a French passport using our French house adress. €25.00 . Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

I guess the worming when returning to UK stays the same? what's it recorded on ? any special UK form or do you still use the pet passport for that? 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

no worries, its all great info..

i've heard that a 'euro' dog passport can be more economical ..i have found out that the UK ones are indeed around £120 upwards..

apparently you can download the actual form and fill it in yourself which takes a mere 15 minutes or so but i dont know if you can get it authorised by a UK vet..

..and i believe a worming tablet is still necessary before you return.. ... - .- -.
