Pirelli All season tyre question

I have Pirelli 22" all season verde tyres, and a complete alloy spare with a new 22" Verde all season tyre.

I was always going to change these when they were close to the legal limit, too Pirelli all season Zero's. Mainly because they were a newer alternative and mpg rating is A rather than C and less noise than a Verde.

I Recently had a slow puncture which could not be repaired, (thats another storey lol) and I asked the garage to order and fit a Pirelli all season Verde replacement. The new spare all season Verde was fitted to the front right.

I have just picked up the wheel late afternoon, and noticed when I got home its a Pirelli All Season Zero! Censored
To me they look identical Rolling with laughter
I was going to fit this to the front left, so then having 2 new tyres on the front axel.

Garage are happy to replace it with a Verde if required, but insisted as its a approved LR tyre (it has LR stamp) and its the same mfg, same size, same speed and load rating, it can be fitted on the same axel as a Verde and you wont notice any difference.

So various questions I have.

1 I have a MOT next week so certainly dont want to tempt fate Rolling with laughter and install this tyre just in case its not allowed etc guess it will be OK in the tyre well for the MOT?

2 I can keep it (new Zero) as a spare, and if I get another puncture or tyre becomes worn on another Verde, I can buy a second Pirelli All season Zero then able to fit each on 1 axel and so on.

3 Or Garage is correct and I can fit to front left and I wont notice any difference and its all legal?

Any tyre/Pirelli experts ? 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

hi,

should not be an MOT issue

I would want the same as the rest of the tyres and as I ordered so get the garage to change it

Unless Whistle

you will wear out a pair of the existing tyres in the next few months and you do want to convert to Zeros then leave it as is

are either of them 3mps rated Question as one of the Pirelli's is (I can not remember which) but that is the type I would go for

Thumbs Up

Agreed that it is not illegal nor a MOT failure. My understanding is that they are not quite the same, and they should also have a price difference.

Thanks

As a matter of interest

The price difference has suddenly dropped in the past few weeks, at Black circles its
£278.30 for 22"Verde all season and £288.60 for 22"Zero's all season fully fitted etc

So option 2 it is then, the new zero is 4920 anyway so not a problem 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
