Td6 fuel pump problem ?

Bought a td6 today that is a non runner due to being run out of fuel , the electric pump appears to be working properly but there little to nothing coming out at the filter inlet , my thinking is the in tank pump has failed but i cant run the motor to check pressures , any suggestions on how to diagnose it folks ???

Bought a new in tank pump , started within 5 turns , happy days
