Deployable side steps

Passenger side ( side step) stop staying out . Came out and then immediately went back in. Now for some reason it is now working😀 . Any reason why that would happen? and how to avoid happening again? Thank goodness I can now cancel the service.

stan is right (naturally).

A regular squirt of white grease around all the hinges is well worthwhile.
