Does the PHEV use..

.. a heat pump?

Anyone knows if the P440e / P510e uses a heat pump to warm/cool the cabin and/or the battery?

In the online manual it's noted that "The following conditions may prevent the EV mode being enabled...: ... High demand from the heating and ventilation systems. ... " which might indicate that they haven't installed a heat pump?

Not using a heat pump for optimized EV performance in a 2023 BEV/PHEV model might seem a bit odd, or?

I asked the landrover guy (not dealer) at one of the preview events he didn’t think it did. Shame if it doesn’t I have had them on previous BEVS and don’t have it on the current little runabout (vw id3) and really notice the cold weather impact. MY23 PHEV HSE

LR might have planned to launch heat pump as a new feature for the MY24/MY25 etc? Must have some new goodies in the pipeline.

Some questions like this is popping up while waiting for the L460 Wink

The Ipace has a pretty slick setup from what I observed in forum discussions using the AC in reverse, they could go raiding the parts bins quite easily for future model years. I had a quick look at the manual the warnings about extreme cold are interesting it seems to indicate the car will not start full stop under certain circumstances. MY23 PHEV HSE

The current PHEV does, I don't see why the new one shouldn't... 2019 Vogue P400e

Thanks adara - didn't know that. Strange that LR don't inform about that, but reassuring that they do use heat pump in their L405 PHEV (and then most likely the L460)!

Considering the number of heater failures in the Jaguar I-Pace, I don't wonder they don't advertise it much... At least in the Range Rover it has an accessible location, in the I-Pace, the battery has to come off!
