Have to say, 3000rpm ain’t the way to go for a regen old matey.
Gentle amble at 55-65mph, 1150rpm, in top, on cruise & she’ll be fine, try that & see if it helps? 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

I disagree that a leak could cause this situation. My DPF yellow and red faults were caused by a minute crack in the pax inlet manifold which only gave RP on occasions but then filled the DPF. They couldn't find it at first but a HIGH pressure smoke test did the job.

I only have very limited mech knowledge and you seem to have good mech background so I will defer if required. Thumbs Up

The reason why mine wouldnt regen was the thermostat housing had been damaged by a previous garage and so the engine (which runs very cool anyway) couldn't reach the temp for a regen to take place - it would initiate (sometimes thousands of attempts an hour!) but never complete, due to the internal engine temp being too low as the thermostat was open all the time.

MUCH APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP GUYS!

It seems that from people's experience on here that there is a hole load of issues that could cause the specific problem so the vehicle is now booked in for a scan so the garage can sort it out Mr. Green

When I get the results back I will post here so that it may help somebody out in the future

Incidentally, took it up the M57 this morning to see a client and after just 10 miles @ 70mph the DPF amber warning light went out again Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing
That's 4 times this week ..... warning light ON ...... motorway run ..... warning light OFF ...... and REPEAT
It's all a bit Groundhog Day Laughing Laughing Laughing

Many owners have reported cracks and hose slits so minute that they didn’t show up on low pressure smoke tests, but gave all these DPF warning problems, yet as soon as located using a high pressure smoke test, no further problems.

slightly leftfield, but have you checked the sensors on the exhaust pipe (ie before and after the exhaust box) are situated correctly, i.e not lose or dislodged slightly, ad not fouled/dirty. It may only be one of the sensors there needs replacing. the IID tool will tell you the voltage emanating from each sensor so have a gander at that.

Apologies for contradicting you but this is not the case.
The majority of leaks will give a DPF Full warning but no engine fault. High Pressure smoke test always the first stop and will find it in 90% of cases.

I went through a lot of pain with this issue.

If the short hoses are leaking it’s usually from underneath so loosen the clips and spin them, you will see a distinct sooty deposit on the clip as a tell tale sign.

The intake hose can be fixed by tightening the clip, however, I’ve seen a good few now where the leak is actually coming from the sensor housing on the pipe (this looks like the area you had a lot of build up)
