I want to remove the factory running boards

Hello folks

I want to remove the running boards on my 2007 RR vogue
Do I need then the standard plastic sill covers because the front flaps need also be removed they're connected to the board I'm pretty sure that I have to buy a sill plastic cover kit did anyone know the part number for it or which parts I have to buy.

Many thanks for any suggestion Thumbs Up
Jean

I don’t think you will have to buy anything, though there will be a drill hole in the front wing plastic panel where the mudflap is.

If it were me, I’d get new front mudflaps without the opening for the side steps, then you won’t have a hole showing.

I've just de-sidestepped mine, other than a few corroded bolts that required an angry grinder to sort out, new non-sidestep front mudflaps were the only parts needed, the aftermarket ones from lrparts.net are pretty good IMO.

Yep as above - new front mudflaps will be required and once done you will never know it had sidesteps on it.
And to my eye they look a lot better and it is no more difficult to get in and out - might even be easier.

I removed my side steps a few years ago and the only real agony was sourcing the front mudflaps.
However mine was a 2003 and I think the early (i.e. BMW) L322's front mudflaps were different to the later models and consequently harder to find.
You will probably have an an easier time.

The removed sidesteps and matching mudflaps should be fairly saleable too. Rob

As above - easy job even if you have to break out the angle grinder. I left the sidestep mudguards on as they don’t bother me too much (Not as much as the side steps did) I’d like to remove the mud flaps as well to get a cleaner look but would be left with paint scars and holes. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I doubt they will be in saleable condition. The side steps take a hammering from the wheels and mine were absolutely rotten, on a 2011 car. Christian.
