I've been watching a brand new iPhone 4 on ebay. It had no bids, a 'Buy It Now' price of £350 and a "place bid" button above the 'Buy It Now' button.

I was debating whether to 'buy it now' earlier but decided against it. However, I continued to watch it.

Then, someone placed a bid of £350 ( instead of using Buy It Now and getting it for that amount). Doing this cancels the Buy it Now function, so its then down to straight bidding.

Its just finished and its sold for £430! The seller must be laughing his off! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

Maybe the seller's mate trying to get a little more than the BIN price

Yeah, weird stuff happend on E-Blag, especially if the bidding doesn't go as the sellers want

Oh and yes, you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things............like click buy it now

could have been a genuine mistake by the buyer, was he a newbie..

When I was selling a bmw reset tool a few years back I had this happen to me. The best bit was these two guys got into a bidding war and one ended up paying double what it cost to buy new!!!

I never complained tho, he paid and was happy! I even listed it with a low start and cheap bin price! Reformed

The same thing happened with a caravan my parents sold a few years back, £3500 BIN, the woman that wanted it said she'd give the £3500, so bid on it, ended up getting £3400 and £50 for delivering it 10 miles down the road
