Diagnostics Tools Recommendations - More than just OBD codes

What recommendations are out there for a handheld tool - L322 and maybe 405 applications. Something more than just getting OBD codes?

I used a nanocom for my TD5 Disco so I'm looking for something that has the same kind of functionality.
Live reading from chassis Powertrain and can configure ecus, activate functions and such

Budget.... is 500 reasonable?

GAP tool for sure.

On a budget, iCarsoft LR V3.0 for LandRover/Jaguar. I've just purchased one of these and it scan just about everything in the car (including suspension / adaptive dynamics faults). It can't code modules or carry out too much in the way of calibration but its a good start for fault finding!

Definitely the GAP IID tool. Best one on the market and great support too.

I have also seen a chap on youtube (Ben's Garage) recommend the ThinkDiag 2 for about £120 but it might need a subscription. Even he did not know. It apparently does suspension heights etc that most equipment does not. Tom
