I have rust

Well I am just amazed I have a bit of rust on the sills inside both rear doors my guess about 2 grands worth but hey ho its done well to get this far

You can get replacement body panels for the repair on eBay for about £60 per side. Depending on if the rust has affected the structural frame you might need some welding to reinforce things. From what I have read the work to do both side would be in the region of £600-£1k depending on the extent of rust.

It seems to be affecting all the L322s and is a case of when not if. You can lessen the risk by clearing out the channels behind the wheel arch as mud and water get stuck behind them, leading to the issue. Tom

Mines going in on Monday for rear arches where doors close and sills, £2600 all in, it’s a common area for rot.

Its going in when I get back from France its not too bad but will have it all cut out anyway as no good doing something by half.
I mean its only on 215k and fifteen years :}
