Oil service reset

Hi

Just done my first oil service and can’t reset the service warning.

Tried the bonnet open, door open, hold button thing… doesn’t work.

2008 3.6 TDV8. How do I do it please, do I have to use my gap tool? Tym

If it sticks, force it. If it breaks, it needs replacing anyway.

Manual Reset Procedure 2006-2009:

All doors, boot, windows and bonnet to be closed.

Press and hold the trip reset button, the button on the left of the instrument cluster.

Turn the ignition switch on to the ignition position two, don't start the car.

If the Service Indicator Interval function is entered the cluster will say 'SERVICE’ for five seconds and then display ‘SERVICE’ constantly. If the Service Indicator Interval function is not enabled the information display will show your mileage.

If the trip reset button is released within ten seconds of entering the reset mode, the information display will show ‘DIST’. If the trip reset button is not released after ten seconds the instrument cluster will exit the manual reset procedure.

If you want to reset the service, press the button on the left of the cluster within ten seconds for five seconds.

...it's also very easy to do in the GAP tool. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

If you have a GAP IID then simply plug in and use that. It's under "Service" IIRC 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
New Defender D300 90 on order so "Rory" will be going to a new home....!
1974 Series 3 Lightweight = "Millie"

This may be where I went wrong as the YT video I say said bonnet and door OPEN...

Might have to resort to this if the other doesn't work Wink Tym
