It is 3 years tomorrow since I traded up from a Td6 Vogue to Baltic Blue. A 4.4 tdV8 VSE.
The Anniversary is marked by booking in for an MOT , because it came with a new MOT and a deal which included 2 years free MD services and MOT’s.
I have now completed my first year with no Warranty cover, given that I declined the £1,600 offer of an extended warranty, deciding that I would rather do as much of my own servicing as possible and save for any future problems.
I am pleased to report that year 3 has been totally trouble free.
I have spent on having the auto box oil changed along with both diffs and transfer box., plus oil and filter for a DIY oil change.
I also had the car underside completely stripped of all the plastic covers then steam cleaned and treated with Dinitrol as a long term investment.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s MOT.

a nice happy story , makes a change from the normal doom and gloom we get on the forum..

Greg, Yes the lot were removed and washed.
You would never believe the amount of muck washed off from underneath.

I paid £400 inc VAT at this local garage.
It took 3 days, so included a courtesy car, and I was invited to call in regularly to see it in its various stages of undress.

I do between 5 -6 k each year, but maybe more this year because I am driving down to the Algarve later in the year for 4 weeks touring around the south of Portugal and visiting a few new areas of Southern Spain.
