Drivers door won't open from inside or outside

My driver's door is completely stuck - it won't open from the outside or the inside. The black tab in the top right corner of the door isn't popping up either - and I can't hear the motor actuating inside the door. It seems there are two schools of thought when it comes to fixing this - either cutting the door striker with a hacksaw or prying back the door card as much as possible and using a coat hanger to pop the mechanism. Given the actuator needs replacing anyway I think I might just go for the hacksaw method.....does anyone know where I can source the part number for the striker? Is there an easier third option I am missing? Thanks

IIRC there is a way in if you can open the rear offside door. A small bung should be visible in the rear face of the front door, outside of the top outboard lock mounting bolt. Remove that and it gives access to the mechanism. You can then use something like a small allen key to pop the unit open.

Search on here and you should find the how to thread.

Hello there,

Ours did this recently - door couldn't be unlocked or opened from inside or out. Also, none of the electric windows would work from the driver's door either.
Simple fix (so far) disconnect the battery, count to 30 and reconnect. Sorted!

Give it a try, you may be lucky
