abs module fault

Quick question,
I know the ABS module has been well documented on here and other forums and one on here did a write up on it.

My abs module will be off for repair this week as having the off side front abs sensor open circuit showing and the 3 lights on the dash. (its not the sensor as new, not the reluctor ring as thats good and the wires as good with voltage)
Only fails when RR is warm/hot or engine idling 15 minutes and not moved a wheel, goes clear when cooled down, hence me going down the module route.

When the module is off the vehicle is it still able to drive short distance? I expect all the abs sensors will show failed and suspect the speedo and tach meter wont work? Anything else?

Only asking as Id need to drive to work the day after taking it to bits and also to post the module. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

It's perfectly fine to drive CAREFULLY without the ABS module.
I had to do the same for almost two weeks last March. I covered almost 900km on known routes.

Apart from the obvious, you won't have:

Navi
Speed dependent door lock
Speed dependent radio volume
Speed dependent servotronic steering wheel resistance (this is the most important that you wouldn't imagine) so be easy on the wheel especially at speed.
Parking sensors won't switch off once activated, unless you press the button.

Also, avoid letting off the gas abruptly as this will cause the transmission to slam.

There's no problem with the km and no tamper dots will appear. The distance covered without the ABS module will simply not be registered.

Thanks Vs322

Good to know not much else will show up in the faults.

I only need to get to the post office so very small miles there and back.

Hoping the module will be back Monday and fitted before commuting to work again. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I drove for a couple of months without mine after it was sent to ACTronics in the UK for repair. (The long delay was the mail from Australia to the UK early in the pandemic when flights were greatly reduced.) Ron B. VK2OTC

Drove it this morning for a few miles, the only thing extra in the faults was as mentioned, trans fail safe, the speedo dis not work as expected and the steering was super light to turn.
Hoping the module will be back with me on Monday or Tuesday next week. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Just to close this thread down and update.

The ABS module was returned and fitted last night and all is well.
The module had failed in one part which was showing the abs sensor open circuit on the off side front but only when engine at operating temperature.

I had to drive the FF for one day to work without the module fitted and what issues you may have are.....

ABS fault,
HDC fault,
Transmission fault,
No Speedometer or trip mileage, but tacho (Rev counter)works,
Fuel light does not work, so range in the tank will not read correctly,
Very, very light steering. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
