Glove Box Latch

When my lower glovebox opens it drop down with nothing to stop it until it empties its contents into the footwell; not much fun. Sad
There appears to be a catch on the right hand side that has a small hook on the outer end and it looks like its supposed to hook onto something in the lower dash. But I just have a small rectangular opening with no mechanism are anything. Is there a catch missing? The picture hopefully shows the issue.

I've googled plenty but found little so any help appreciated
Thanks

It just catches on the right side of the opening. Mine used to do the same until I applied heat to the catch and bent it so it latches on properly. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Excellent solution; I will apply some gentle heating tomorrow and realign it.
Many thanks

There was nothing missing on mine. The lip of the catch was worn so it just did’n’t catch on the edge of the opening. I probably bent it a bit further than necessary but it now works as it should 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I applied some gentle heat to it then wedged it over whilst it cooled for an hour and its working a treat now; it caught every time for 10 drops so well pleased.
Your arm looks like its cranked forward Jay, whereas mine is straight. Hey ho, all working now so happy days!

Many thanks for the tip Very Happy
