So my 2010 TDV8 4.4 needs a new brake master cylinder and I have tried all the main supply sources including Advanced Factors and for some reason they cannot source or even pre order the part.

If anyone knows of a source do let me know, used is fine. The LHD version (LR012900) seems to be easy to get, not sure if it could be modded to work on a RHD) but by car is stuck in a car park and cannot move until I get the brake cylinder done. I really hope it won't be weeks or longer........

I am also trying breakers, but if anyone has any advice or alternative options that would be much appreciated. Tom

The TRW part number you're looking for is PMF519. They're about £125.

What's wrong with yours? Could it not be rebuilt..? I've not googled but you would think someone is doing it... they usually only need new seals...  Pete

I am sure it can rebuilt but a straight swap makes things quicker for my mechanic as I need the car up and running asap.

Mechanic told me when he tried bleeding the brakes fluid was only getting to the rears and nothing to the fronts, even after checking hoses etc. Tom

Yeah, garage struggled to bleed mine and ended up changing master cylinder… rightly or wrongly….

Looked at my paperwork to see if part number was the same, and it was, so can’t help with alternatives I’m afraid.

Though rebuild might be possible, as others have said.

I managed to get a master cylinder with booster and reservoir complete from 2012 TDV8 from a breakers as I need to be able to use the car. I am guessing they are normally reliable so worth a shot.

I found that if you search for the booster it is easier to find used as the cylinders don't seem to have part numbers on them.

So you can search for: AH42-2B195-BA
