Bit of a quandry

So I have my service coming up on a MY65 Autobiography. Got it from a main dealer and have maintained the main dealership service history so far. This year will be going the indie route. The only problem is that the nearest indies to me that are recommended by the fabulous patrons of this forum are around an hour's drive away and quite awkward to get to and back. Whereas I have a local garage down the road, family run but usually servicing "regular" motors. I've used them before for previous cars (BMs and jeeps) and they have been thorough, reasonably priced and honest (from what I could tell) having up to date diagnostic equipment etc. Though the only rangie I've seen there was an ancient RRSport. They could probably do a good job at MOT and servicing but they are no experts on Range Rovers from what I can tell. From speaking to them they seem very keen to have my business.

So, in my situation what would you do? Give the local garage a go or go to the Range Rover specialists with all the travel hassle that would entail?

Also, how expert do you actually need to be to do a full service on a MY65 Range Rover?

All and any thoughts welcome! L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue

providing genuine JLR parts are used, it counts as a genuine service, that would be my only stipulation (and the receipts or a photocopy) , and that you trust them, and they use a really good scanner like Snap-On or similar

Thanks Stan. Interesting, there’s no mention of any of those items on the Land Rover website. All it says is an 84 month service will include oil change, filters, screen wash and “3+ promotional oil” which sounds cheap and nasty. I’ll give the dealership a call to find out all that that will entail. Though my engine is the 4.4ltr so perhaps doesn’t need these items?

Not bothered about the online service record, as long as I can show I’ve looked after the car, that should be ok. L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue
