Scotland 2017 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Corris Grey

Craig, I got the £2,500 from the 2015 brochure, no doubt the option price increased as time went on. It was an option on the 2021 SVA Ultimate Edition, I don't know at what cost, but probably a lot more. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Msg to Craig....and any current owners.

I’m test driving a 2017 SV Autobiography Dynamic Supercharged tomorrow at a main dealer, is there anything I need to take special notice of? The car has done 53,000 miles with a full service history and 3 owners. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Only issues I have had was rear seats not folding and folding back correctly ( seat catch faulty ) and a thud from the rear when turning slowly after setting off ( trans case flushed and calibrated )

Based on my ordinary 2017 5.0SC:

- galvanic corrosion on bolts behind headlights under the bonnet and under the flap between the loadspace and the lower tailgate;

- corrosion of parking sensors especially at rear (leads to false positives);

- corrosion of aluminium strip/number plate light surround on tailgate;

- thudding on kick down (needs gear change software update);

- oil leakage underneath (in my case from transmission oil cooler pipe connector);

- upper tailgate alignment/opening cleanly;

- vagueness in steering due to anti roll bar pin/bush wear at front;

Mine has also needed various software updates for electrical faults, but unless they occur during your test drive you wouldn't know. At that age you'd probably want the differential oils to have been changed, ask if it has been done. Only Range Rovers since 1988

So I missed out on the white one Big Cry Big Cry

However, then this crossed my path:

2016 model with only 12341 kms (7713 miles) full service history (annual services) etc.

The biggest challenge now is the wait whilst the dealer is finishing the ceramic coating, and annual service and then have to ship it to me in Pretoria (dealer is in Cape Town which is 900 miles from me)

Well found, but you're missing a trick. Much more fun to drive it 900 back home than getting it delivered. Thumbs Up Mike - MPx

Indeed, I own one of the SVA LWB BLACK EDITION with Poltrona Frau leather upgrade! I have the original paperwork and the leather option in the Black Series was MUCH more than £2.500 from memory! Although I’m not confident enough to guess exactly how much… Embarassed

I still have the 2017 brochure & Price List, and it says £2590.00 extra for Poltrona Frau leather, option code 033TU,
although if you add the “Event Seating” to that it goes up by another £5900.00 Shocked

I wonder if, at the time, how many of these options were “Drunken Purchases” (albeit on Champagne, of course) Rolling with laughter

Pah! I’m only jealous ‘cos I have “poverty spec” Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Bow down “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

That sounds like a great plan. Just a bit of struggle to fit it in between work commitments Big Cry

Mike, you called it Bow down

Dealer called me today to tell me that the car would only be dropped off in 2 - 3 weeks time. So, guess where I am going tomorrow morning and what I will bring back with me

So looking forward to spend some time with her on the way back

Well that sounds like a grand day out! Just spent 7 hours driving mine today. Should have only been 5, but the return leg involved many hours in traffic on the M5 - would have been awful in anything else but was fine in the Fatty. Enjoy getting to know it - take a few breaks and make sure your table gives you a good view of the car! Mike - MPx

So wife and I flew to Cape Town on Saturday to collect the new to us 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography LWB Black Edition.

After signing all the required documents left Cape Town at around 12pm to Pretoria with sleep over in Colesberg which is about halfway between Cape Town and Pretoria. Arrived in Colesberg not as tired as I thought I would be - car’s comfort made sure of it. The same when we arrived in Pretoria - still had energy to visit some friends and take them for coffee at a restaurant in our new steed.

This car is so much more comfortable than my 2007 RRSC and a lot quieter - albeit because the 2007 one has got some things done to it to release a few more ponies. Back to the 2016 one - power delivery is so smooth and it is deceptively fast - even my 2 sons, who are devoted petrol heads are impressed with its power and the way it delivers it from very low revs.

Had to give it a quick wash this afternoon after it probably had its first mud terrain exposure on Saturday.

Looking to many miles and smiles with this steed
