I've seen a couple in use, they appear to be overpriced by about £40....

Probably not what you're after, I use one of these www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IBGGD64

Here's the L405 version www.amazon.co.uk/UK-Custom-Covers-BL172-Tailored/dp/B01D1M7GE6

I don't put animals or dirty things in the back so just want a mat, just in case....... I take it those rubber ones are a bit of a waste of money then..?? Pete

Well, the Britpart ones look overpriced, they're quite flimsy and seem to be a particularly poor grade of flexible-non-specific-rubber-substitute. Not at all heavy & dense like you'd expect a boot mat to be. A piece of 6mm Neoprene sheet you could cut to size would cost less.

Mine has the 'Loadspace semi-rigid liner' VPLGS0263 which has worked well, but is probably overkill for your stated objectives. The cheapest emergency use solution might be to buy a small tarpaulin that could be put over the loadspace floor if and when required. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I got one of these from http://www.prestigecarmatcompany.co.uk/

Heavy black rubber with checkerplate pattern, grippy surface, perfect fit, I’m very pleased with it.
It’s completely flat, no raised edges, doesn’t scuff easily like some do, only £47.95 at the time. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

In the Evoque I had a cheap flexible plastic mat. Wasn’t soft rubber like a car mat , but was thin and could bend over on itself, and was easily wiped down.. The best bit about it was it had a lip round the edges. Only about an inch and a half but enough to catch spills or water off wet shoes etc. took a fair bit of beating from having things in the boot but never punctured. I’ve yet to find it for the l405 but am looking from time to time. V8 or else ...

I use a heavy rubber mat in the back of my pickup, and its surprising how much quieter it makes road noise from the rear, so must do similar in the fullfat, compared to plastic. Obvs less noticable to my ageing ears, lol! Embarassed “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Cheers guys and thanks for the offer Mr Tee, it is a bit far..!

I've got the full boot bag thingy but I don't want to keep it, just want a mat to keep the carpet clean in case I do have to put something dirty in there, it will be once in a blue moon though...

I'll get a genuine one, just wondered if there was a better alternative, Craig found a better alternative for the footwell mats so I thought I'd ask... Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete
