Latest problem to grace the Supercharged has reared it's head today!

I've not used it since last Sunday, walked up to it this morning and unlocked it without any problems. The side steps folded out normally, and everything looked ok.

I climbed in, put the key in the ignition switch and turned the ignition on and at exactly the same time, at exactly the same speed both front windows opened. When you pull the switch to close them nothing happens.

If you pull the switch to the close position and hold it you can hear the regulators in the doors click but the windows don't make any attempt at all to close.

The car started and ran with no problems, battery voltage is 12.4v with it switched off and over 14v with the engine running.

At the moment the car is back inside with the battery disconnected as it's raining up here and the windows won't close

The workshop manual states:

If you have an IID tool, you could try running the window calibration routine. It may not be able to run the routine, but worth a shot. Kev

I did wonder about looking to see if the IID will show if any of the switches are registering a button press. Will give a try too, thanks!

Battery voltage quite low, once charged I reckon the problem will have fixed itself, maybe

Try the Global closing function and see if anything happens?

Problem found and partially solved.

I removed the drivers door card and unplugged the switch pack. Reconnecting the battery and putting the ignition back on then allowed me to shut the passengers side window.

I then stripped the switch pack for the drivers side and found this…

Solved!

Cleaning that corrosion off the window switch pack has resumed normal service with everything working on it as it should.

Strange thing is it didn’t appear to get *that* wet the night it happened but there must’ve been enough moisture that got in to cause problems.

that switch module is so prone to water ingress....if you have the driver window open a few cm's and then use the wiper wash then it dowses the whole thing with spray.. ... - .- -.

That's why I fitted wind deflectors. Never trusted that switch cluster being water resistant in the slightest...Good that you managed to sort it, OP and thanks for sharing

That's a relief David...

Just in case others read this thread down the line? There are several different switch packs through the years and fitting the wrong-aged switch pack will affect mirror functioning amongst other oddities...
