United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 V8 Java Black
Rear Window Mouldings DED500190 (LH) & DED500180 (RH) -

Hi Guys,

After months of searching around for the best one i could find, I am now the happy owner of a Santorini Black 2012 (L322) Westminster. One owner from new and a full 'no expense spared' detailed JLR/JLR specialist service history. A good starting point as i'm sure you will all agree.

Whilst pretty immaculate throughout, the previous owner clearly cared for it a great deal, i have noticed a few minor elements that i would like to correct and repair. I want to look after it as much as the previous owner has. All of the issues i have spotted are very minor cosmetic bits, which are certainly to be expected with age, but i'd rather deal with them straight away instead of letting anything get worse.

The main one issue i have noted is on the left and right moulding seals on the upper glass tailgate section. Both are starting to bubble slightly at the bottom corners and a bit cruddy with debris. I think I've identified the parts as DED500180 (RH) and DED500190 (LH) and just wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience fitting these? Whilst there are a multitude of YouTube videos for many other part installs and upgrades, i hadn't been able to find any showing how best to approach fitting of these parts.

Any help, guidance or suggestions on how best to approach would be kindly appreciated. Maybe I'll make an install video for reference Wink

Thanks in anticipation

Strangely some cars seem to be fitted with these from new and some not. My car didn't have them fitted but I've just put some on to try and stop water dripping onto the parcel shelf if the glass is wet when opening the tailgate.
Not really successful in my experience. They do stop it a bit but not completely.
Getting the bottom tag in place is the hardest part but other than that they just push on. Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

Hi,

I replaced these on my MY 2012 VSE about a year ago.Initially I fitted them using the tabs at the top and bottom of each strip, but found the tabs did not hold the strips in place, as they slipped off the edge when the car was being valeted.

The solution I used was to remove the strips, cut off the top and bottom tabs then refit the strips with silicon adhesive applied in the groove for the glass.

They have been just fine since with no negative impact on the glass or the strips since fitment. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Current
