HELP.. Peculiar engine noise

Can anyone help?

And the oil presure light came on. However the oil level facility says unavailable!?
Would anyone know what this may be as the car is in the garage and they are suggesting a new engine..
the engine starts but i dont want to run it much as it does not sould great!
Please ask any questions and any advice would be fab.
Thanks

For a running engine, replacing it sounds like the nuclear option. Is this with a specialist? If so then I would believe them. if not, irrespective of where you are in the UK, I would get on the phone to this place https://www.cam-tech-landrover.co.uk/contact-us/ and say a prayer and plan to get the vehicle transferred as necessary. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... I know, yes its with a specialist that i trust but they have not investigated much into it yet, simply spoke with some sdv8 specialist and they have said it ‘sounds’ like its about to explode and need a new one!
Now if the oil is low, then the hydraulic chain tensioners wont work and the chain might chatter right? It sounds like that and also like tappets with no oil. Confused
I just dont want to dive into a new engine if i dont actually need one.

Low oil pressure does not necessarily mean low oil, they are two different things...

Usually when the low oil pressure light comes on it is too late and significant damage to most parts of the engine has been caused even if the engine is full of oil...

If it is low on oil and the low oil pressure warning comes on that doesn't mean the bottom of the engine will survive because "there must be some oil there" low oil pressure means just that, whatever oil is in the engine is not circulating at the correct pressure and damage will be done.

If the low pressure is caused by low oil level then putting more oil in will not help, as the damage has already been done.. Pete
