Anybody just watched Top Gear?

Have to say the L406 was mighty impressive on it!

Yeah, just finished it. Very impressive.

My Dad bought a 2012 Evoque about 4 months ago, and even he messaged me asking if I’d watched Top Gear, full of Range Rover pride.

It’s definitely a piece of kit. Needs the number plate fixing on better 🤣

Thumbs Up Looked v nice but I think that one is best avoided on the second hand market after the rock crawl segment!

The suspension didn’t appear particularly extended in height but suppose it is deceptive.

I hope they used stainless steel screws……….. Whistle

Anyone make a note of the reg. so we can all avoid that one in future? Laughing “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I wonder if it was a pre-production car?

When the L494 RRS was released, I read a lot of the press cars weren't homologated so they were to be crushed when they were finished with rather then sold. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Good , no excellent showing. 71 registered, so could be preproduction
Everyone, but everyone mentions the price, I swore I wouldn’t have one as the price is one step ahead of lunacy, I couldn’t find an alternative… I was stuffed. Delightfully stuffed I hasten to add.
I don’t think I could take a £ 100,000 car and put it over those bumps, for ‘little kisses ‘ as the presenter called them. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Yep, I'm an old(er) man and have a Lantau Bronze one. But it could have been Batumi Gold.

It looks very nice inside, I personally dont like the lights at the rear (too americanised for me), it was staggering the terrain it managed to go across but £200,000..... Really ? People paying this amount for a car are in a very different world to me LOL. In 15 years time it will have rusted away into a pile of dust, £36.50 per day, every day for 15 years. BMW i3 Electric Car

Our daughter is an engineer with JLR and has spent time in Off Road Capability - the rocks at Walters Arena are part of their test regime for prototype vehicles!

She used to take delight in taking competitor vehicles and testing them (often to destruction) against JLR criteria…

Her dissertation at Uni was on the capability and potential to use the current RR capabilities to allow autonomous use in an off-road situation - I was lucky enough to be part of her ‘research’ which involved a full day in a FFRR, including the training area for the RR Sport stair climb to heaven (in China?) with 1 in 1 concrete stairs… all done autonomously by the FF - super impressive!
