United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue
Unusual 322 on eBay

This seems like an unusual car to me…

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295338205033?mk...media=COPY

It’s advertised as a 4.4 TDV8 but the pictures show it to have the older gear selector as per the 3.6.

I thought all of the 4.4’s had the rotary gear level and the 8 speed gearbox so suspected this one to be a 3.6 but when looking up the vehicle details it’s registered as a 4.4.

Did the very early 4.4’s have the older selector?

Yeah, strange that. Even says 4.4TDV8 on the invoices.

Has steering wheel paddles too. Registered November 2010.

Can only assume it’s the wrong interior pic, but the bonnet looks the right colour.

Unless someone hated the rotary selector that much they changed the lever. I’m sure it only connects electronically but I’m no expert…. Don’t think its a 5.0SC as the exhausts aren’t visible.

The ad says first reg 28 march 2011 so I think he's gotten something mixed up. It's also got a 3 year gap in servicing (2019-2022) - Shame as it's a nice car otherwise. I suspect its a 3.6.

Bit naughty leaving the previous owners details on as well. It gives a name, his very nice house address in a very nice part of the country. Prime target for a burglar. Wouldn't be happy if it was me!

BTW, This one is very cheap if someone's looking for one! (nothing to do with me just daw the low price and wondered.

yes that is a nice L322 - same colour as mine "Sumatra Black" - sadly there is no drop down box on this forum for me to seclect the correct colour for my car, and have to select Santinori instead Sad

Have just sent him a message as follows:

HI there, Can you please confirm the engine size? The interior shows the gear selector is that of a 3.6L TDV8. The 4.4L TDV8 has the rotary selector. Also the first reg dates are different. one is 2010 and the other 28 march 2011. can you confirm which it is and why the discrepancy?

Also can you please confirm there is no service history from 2019 until the most recent in 08 2022.

Looking at Microcat, the 8 speed 'dial' LR022957 starts at VIN BA000001 (as does the 4.4 TDV8 Diesel)
The 6 speed floor console LR010764 runs from AA000001 to BA336414
So there is some crossover, I don't recall seeing a 4.4 with a six speed box but it might not have been unusual enough to commit to memory...

The part number for the oil filter is LR022896 which is a 4.4 part number, doesn't mean the receipt is for the vehicle he's selling though!

The 4.4 always had the 8 speed box. Wonder if the chassis number overlap accounts for the 5.0 and 5.0 SC, which used the lever till the end.

Nice looking car though. Good colour combo.

just ask for an engine picture. he will only tell you what he was told by the guy selling it to him. the cover on the engine will tell you what it is. -its definitely a late 3.6. with the lever...but the details on line, say 4.4 they can't be assumed to be 100 percent correct.

Sounds as though the sale is a fake, with pictures taken from other sources and the person doesn't know that the gear lever is a dead giveaway.

The 5.0 never used the 8sp gearbox in the 322 hance the stick... 8sp didnt come on the 5.0 until the 405. Why? Who knows... A development delay i would guess?

Assume the interior photos are of the 5.0 they used (for some reason) to advertise the same car on IG:

Arabica isn’t “Saddle”, either.

I saw this a few weeks ago thinking the same thing. I think there is a mix up with photos. V8 Vault has sold a lot of 5.0 S/C with the same spec if you look on their Instagram.

If you look on the AT advert there is photos of the receipts and one details 4.4 belts & idlers.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202211051406970

It’s a beauty spec but has an extensive MOT failure/ advisory history & the recent sales prices are all over the place. 2011 RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8

The front brakes look like they’re 6 pots too which were never fitted to a 3.6 as the 2010 crossovers didn’t even have the 4 pots.
