[Wanted] LR154747 Hybrid battery

I'm looking for a LR154747 hybrid battery for a 2015 Range Rover

On a side note, if anybody knows about repairing/reconditioning the existing hybrid battery, please contact me.

Ridiculously expensive., so much so I have ruled out anything new..

I'm hoing the existing can be fixed/reconditioned. The car is still under JLR extended warranty, but obvioulsy this doesn't cover an £18K battery, I mean, why would it Rolling Eyes

Why? I thought there was a long warranty? just found this I know its a RRS 2019 but should apply to a FFRR

Thanks for all the posts guys.

I've checked eBay thoroughly but cannot find a LR154747 battery.

The JLR warranty for these batteries: '...the manufacturer’s warranty for the battery on your vehicle is for 5 years'.

I can't understand why the battery not working makes the car a non runner. Surely the battery could be easily bypassed? Most of the time it is unavailable when first starting the car due to many things (temperature etc.), so why the issue when it's not available full time?

So their warranty is for 6 Years or 60k miles and yet they say the battery will out last the car???? A cell can (relatively) easily be replaced - in the batteries in vehicles being sold now, older vehicles are not constructed to allow easy cell replacement.
You still have to (safely) electrically disconnect the battery, drain the coolant & remove the battery, have the battery repaired, refit, refill & bleed the coolant (not as easy as you'd think), recommission the battery (i.e. convince the rest of the vehicle that the battery is now OK and the contactors can be closed), charge the battery and let the battery management system determine that the cell voltages are within acceptable limits.

I replace EV batteries two or three times a month (non-JLR), most take 4-5 hours and two men to complete, we're apparently getting the ability to replace faulting cells in the near future. It's not something that fills me with joy, it's all about reducing the workload of the battery manufacturers and putting more load on the workshops, where we will have to carry out the repairs in fixed times. I suspect there will be more 'battery management faults', which can only be resolved with a new pack rather than a pack repair. It might seem harsh, however, it's the EV trained techs that will lose out, we're given a fixed amount of time to complete a repair, if it takes longer, it affects your efficiency - and therefore your wages, if a vehicle comes back with a 'repeat fault' (in this case, same fault but different cell) then we can't claim the time for replacing the second failed cell if it's within six months of the original repair. So it makes sense (for us) to replace the assembly where any subsequent faults are a parts warranty issue - and we get paid.

My understanding is that 99% of the time the problems with the LR154747 batteries are NOT the cells themselves, but the electronic cards within.

There are a very limited amount of people who can diagnose/repair these cards (I think there are 6 that have to be kept in the correct order even after repair) and the majority of HEVRA (Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Repair Alliance) garages send the cards off to a selected few people to fix (one being a chap in Greece who I've talked to).

With all the information I have garnered recently, I think this is my best course of action.
