'12 L322 4.4 V8 engine whining sound behind vacuum pump

My ‘12 L322 4.4 V8 has developed a whining sound on driver side behind the vacuum pump. Mechanic had a replacement vacuum pump fitted in order to rule it out. Noise is still there. No engine warnings

Have searched around and seems like it might be piston rod or cylinder issue, or maybe coolant related.

Any thoughts would be welcome!

Sounds like the bearings on the water pump worn out.
