I used to be very into Hi8 stuff. Still have a Sony EVS Hi8 player rigged-up and running in the man den. It's not exactly 'for sale', but what are you after?

Used to film eagles and ospreys with this kind of set-up. Frightening to see how worthless a previously 'top end' camera is these days!

i have about 25 hi8 tapes which i want to digitise John..

a hi8 player would be the ideal apparatus to do this job....

i know you could use a camcorder but my preference is a vcr.. ... - .- -.

Just had a proper look. Mine is an EV-C2000 and to my surprise, there's a couple on the bay of thieves just now for £400 & £550 Shocked I'm sure that's probably beyond the cost of getting tapes digitised, but I may be wrong?

Whilst I'm not overly keen to sell, I'm happy to help any damsel mod in distress! Would you like to hire it for a week or a month? Whistle The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

i have many of the ebay ones on my watchlist and they are indeed 'well priced' Crying or Very sad

thats a very kind offer John ,thank you...and if you were within a few miles of swindon i would certainly go for that ... posting would be risky ,especially for a rare item like your vcr..

something will turn up hopefully.... Wink ... - .- -.

I still have my Sony camcorder I bought in Saudi Arabia in 1989. I still haven’t got around to digitising the videos I took there or of my kids. Ron B. VK2OTC
