Hi Guys,

New person here. I am picking up a 2006 RR Vogue SE at the weekend. I have never owed a RR before so this is pretty new to me.

I have been told that there is no AUX cable port and the interface is pretty basic.

Looking online and since signing up here, I see NAV tool (for Apple Car Play) is spoken about quite often however it is $500 for the part, plus I think you lose the NAV and it is tricky to install.

Another option I have seen that is much cheaper is a radio antenna splitter that puts out a signal on a frequency, this is all for around £100 and relatively easy to install however if someone near you tunes into that radio frequency they might hear you. This is essentially grabbing a signal from the charging port of your phone. I am unsure if it does calls (which is kind of more important).

I was wondering if anyone has had/or solved this issue before.

I am reasonably sure that the 2006 does an aux in port. Mine is at the back of the centre console, facing the rear passengers.

Thanks for replying. From research, 2006 seems to be a strange year due to transition from bmw to ford.

Some 2006 models have the aux in the back like you described, some don’t.

This one I am buying unfortunately doesn’t.

Maybe this opens a further question, is there any significance that it doesn’t have this AUX port in the back?

If you don't have AUX, it is possible, and there is an Android system out there, but it's quite a difficult job I understand.

If you wish to stream music without the hassle or just for the interim before investing a significant amount in the vehicle, it might be worth grabbing a Bluetooth to FM transmitter, then tune the stereo to the frequency on the adapter.

You should have an Aux port behind the centre console. All you’ll need to use it is a male 3.5mm cable. I bought a male to male 3.5mm cable and a cheap Bluetooth receiver from Amazon. When I switch that on it adds Bluetooth streaming to the car for less than 20 quid.

For me, as much as I’d love Apple CarPlay on mine, it wasn’t worth the costs being mentioned.
