LED reversing light from Powerful UK

Appalled by the dangerously poor reversing lights on an L322 (compared to, say, a D3 that let you see things before you squashed them) I have bought a pair the clear LED units from Powerful. On the face of it they should be a 300% improvement on the originals, but has anyone had an issue with water ingress? I wonder if I should be filling that lamp-sized void with sealant before I fit them.

Ignore me. Obviously, the lamp holder from the car’s loom goes into that fitting.
This is my Durrr! moment for today. I’m here all week…

Just fitted some myself Mike.
Did you prise the seal off your old lamps and put it on the new ones?

I haven't got that far yet, the RR is in the workshop getting a new alternator. But that does sound like a good idea.

But are these any better? (Brighter. Can you actually see anything?)

Only just put them on mate. I asked my son to look while I put it in reverse and he said they were very bright and they are definitely brighter for the rear camera at night.
They also look more modern.
Hope you got the clear lens ones. Thumbs Up

I think they are brighter and they have three rings.

I fitted a pair of those reversing lamps just before xmas. They're definately miles better than the original LR ones and illuminate much more on the reverse camera. Only downside for me is that the Westie has tinted windows, so the side illumination isn't greatly improved. Still well worth the money and I'm planning on taking my old reversing lights apart and seeing what I can shoehorn into them by way of LEDs, COBs, etc.

Edit: Also agree that they look more 'modern' than the existing lamps.

OK, thanks. I'm not keen on the "look" of those 3 rings. Fussy Censored me Rolling with laughter 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Me neither, but I'm seriously considering ordering these today, as I've already 'upgraded' to LEDs and still can't see jack schit when reversing at night! The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

Obviously it's personnel choice but they kind of match the circles in the rear lights.
Just be aware that the smoked glass option are very dull.

Think mine was from ebay.

Have to admit ones from powerful seem to do the business going by the number plate lights

I agree that they are not good for illuminating behind the car but that seems to be the norm for most vehicles. I suspect that reversing lights are merely there to warn people behind you that you are reversing.

I added a small LED flood lamp under the rear bumper. Ron B. VK2OTC
