Converting a TDV6 to a TDV8 L405?

Has anyone ever converted a TDV6 to a TDV8 on an L405 on an occasion such as a crankshaft failure or other reason to change the engine? Just interested to know..is it even possible? 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

The V8 Diesel has a different suspension set up, not that is probably strictly necessary but just a thought to add into the equation 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

most things can be done, it may not be cost effective or mechanically effective though. If it happened to me I'd be tempted to have it broken for parts First time FFRR owner

I’m sure someone like Allan Millyard could do something like that but I’m sure it will be beyond most normal people

It is possible, but not practical

You'd be cheaper to sell the V6 (broken or not) and but a V8...

The suspension is only different in terms of the active aspect of it … which works in addition to the actual setup does it not? i.e. the physical arms and struts are the same across both,, but the SDV8’s anti roll bar has an active central component and active dampers, where as the V6 doesn’t. In reality, it’ll just mean a bit more lean on cornering etc … and maybe the damper rate will be different

The different in engine weight will be countered by the self levelling, so that wont matter so much.

What else may differ ? Bellhousing, diff housing maybe, a ton of pipe work and radiators possibly, plus programming the car to it all too.

Easier to fit the same engine, but fixed ! V8 or else ...
