I use my Starling card when overseas, no charges for overseas payments and the exchange rate is very good.

First Direct charges just make it untenable to use that account.

#2 Halifax Clarity card and HSBC GM debit card cover most of my needs abroad.
Clarity card was APR11.9% when I first got it over a decade ago, double that now! Shocked
Fortunately, tend to pay it off in full most of the time. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
