Have I got weird struts on my L322?

Hi all,

I'm finding the ride a bit firm over the shockingly bad roads we have in Sussex and was reading about checking the sensor wires on the top of the struts for breaks.

I popped the bonnect and found these....

Which look different to all the other strut tops I've seen.

Any ideas what I have fitted here?

Normal for the sc, vibration damper, simply put, a weight screwed onto the top of the strut. Can prove to be a bit of a bastard to unscrew 😂

Thanks Dingg1, good to know it's normal!

I guess this also means I don't have CVD on mine so the harsh ride must be something else? 2006 L322 Vogue SE 4.2

I don't *think* Adaptive Dynamics (VDS/CVD/EDC) was available until the 2010 or 2011 model year, so no electronics in your dampers. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

Yes, CVD adaptive dampers came out with the last facelift with digital dash.

At least if you need shocks they will be relatively cheap….
