Cheap OBD reader

No replies expected, just for info -

Aldi are selling a cheap OBD code reader at only £17. ( from Sunday 2nd April - in store only )

I am not suggesting it for FFRR use, but for other family and friends cars, my daughter had one of these in her cars for a while now, and she has used it, proved to be very handy.
For instance she used it to identify an EGR problem when her Insignia went into limp mode, saved me time when I had to fix it. Bloody good value at this price.

Please note, I have no connections to the device maker or seller, whatsoever.

Read the blurb Stan! the Autel AP200, its more than just a reader amongst other things, see quote from a recent post

Hi, I programmed my Freelander 2 keys, bought on ebay for £17 with the Autel Maxi AP200 app on my phone with the Landrover add on software. It was a £57 app. with a £28 add on and I bought the dongle from an Autel agent. Its done on the car so no laptop needed.

The Aldi device is not BT, does not pick up suspension or ABS or Airbag faults. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Apologies, my daughter has the £20 'Streetwize' reader from Euro car parts, which covers nearly all aspects of the car, ( Not that many cars have an Electronic; connection to the suspension) Ok it will not have the same facilities as the Autel, but you do not need an app to use it, so at £17 as opposed to £85 it's still a bargain and means no garage fee to identify the fault, and reset.

At one fifth the cost of the Autel, it's still a bargain for some folks, and very simple to use.

I'm sure anyone would find t useful, paticularly at that price. I bought one similar to this on ebay and has been fine for resetting engine managemnet faults relating to a misfire and faulty cat on the wifes Peugot 208.

Agreed its cheap, useful for any other mfg than a Land rover Rolling with laughter

Autel Its currently £57 you get the whole Land Rover models, DS, Discovery, FF RS Evoque as your first Marque then its extra for each other mfg etc
Just look at the Landrover comment 1 star range, is enough to put me off. https://www.aldi.co.uk/auto-xs-car-fault-c...b50b8035cb 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

For £10 and a few quid on an App, you really can’t go wrong with one of these, https://amzn.eu/d/aq3661n I’ve got one in my car and my dad uses one and to date it’s been adequate for all but the most complex / serious issues.

For example it was used to diagnose a faulty crank sensor just last week. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Know what you mean Kot, useless for Land Rover products, had I known about the Autel, I may have bought that instead of the ICarsoft device which I use on my RR, cost me around the £110 mark when purchased, but very good device. ( No phone needed which is easier for a luddite like me !! )

Thank you for the info paul70, only 12 squid, Censored Banging Head Thud I thought no one can beat £17, that's me wrong again, now getting my coat and leaving Whistle

There are even cheaper ones on Aliexpress if you don't mind waiting a few weeks from China.
However - wouldn't be without my GAP Bluetooth for the L322! They are good value as they are worth so much if you come to sell them.
