New SV spotted

Spotted a L460 SV on the back of a transporter on the M5 heading south around Worcester way today.

Just can’t imagine spending all that money and not have a factory handover.

I am about to take delivery of my P530 AB and am debating whether it's worth taking a day out to trek up to Solihull for the factory handover or just take delivery a few miles away. I am sure a lot of buyers don't bother, especially if they have done the factory handover before or they live a way away from Solihull.

Also, maybe these ones were destined for a market outside of the UK?

Collected my P530 AB yesterday from my dealer. Living in the South West it is quite a treck, I went to the factory to watch my 405 being built which I enjoyed but realy could see little point in the factory hand over. letters not necessarily in the right order

I had a factory handover for my SVA and I guarantee it was not just a handover.

Myself and my wife were picked up at the house, in South Wales, and taken to the factory. We were offered lunch, a factory tour and then the car was handed/revealed which was an amazing experience in itself. It’s not just a handover. I had the car bespoke built so, I paid a bit more than starting price but no where near how much these L460 SV cars are now priced at.

Maybe LR are now cutting costs even more and restricting the type of experiences they now offer, but, if I was paying the amount of money that these SV’s cost I would certainly expect the red carpet treatment. 19MY SVA-Dynamic Spectral Chromoflair Blue but colour not available in profile

I took the factory collection in 2019 on an SV A/B Dynamic. The car was a replacement to an identical one that died (electrics) after 2 months old. Was treated very well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Got into the new car at the end of the day and drove out the gates...only to find the sat nav was not loaded. Pulled over and called the concierge but they had already gone home for the day.

Drove home with no sat nav and it kinda took the shine off the day and then needed a dealer visit to get the maps loaded.

Despite the set back I do still think its an experience worth doing once.

I enjoyed the handover experience, being collected in a very clean LWB FFRR from home in Wiltshire, but was unable to do the factory tour because of lockdown. Interesting to see the old factory buildings where Spitfires were built in WW2.

Also enjoyed the flooded off road course. All LR cars from 1984

When I took delivery of my supercharged SVA in Oct 19 I did the factory handover and it was a well worth experience but, and here is the but - living in Newcastle meant a chauffeur picked me up at 7am for arrival to LR at 12 (we did a detour round by York to pick up a friend) and then after the days activities we left LR just in time to get caught in the bad traffic coming out of Birmingham and up the M42.

After dropping my friend off at York I was not home until after 10.30pm so a very long day!

Would I do it again - no as its easier to pick up from my local dealer (120 miles away) and at a time of my choosing and have a nice drive home getting everything set up rather than a 240/260 mile battle up the motorway Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

The point is they save the delivery costs to the dealer, or am I being unkind?

How’s the new car Dixy? Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc
