Hi all

Thought I would share my latest project, I have successfully fitted a set of deployable side steps to my 2003 L322. They operate exactly as they do on 07+ vehicles e.g. extend on unlocking, retract on locking and driving off. The only current limitation is they don't currently deploy when opening the doors manually if they are retracted. I am working on this part.

The steps use the cars communication networks to monitor the status of the car and the steps are completely factory standard, ecu, harness. The only difference is some wiring modifications and a bracket adaptation for the drivers side to work around the air suspension tank.

Drivers side which is about 1 1/2 inches lower but I'm working to reduce this to around 3/4 inch.

Excellent work! Would love to fit these to my 2006 SC! I didn't realise the pre and post 2007 models had a different location for the air susp tank.

Hi Matt - looks like I'm following another diy I have the full kit looking forward to you telling me how you fit it - did you even use the Ecu it came with?
