Just back home and first drive for nearly 3 weeks and there is humming noise coming from under the dash passenger side. I could hear it faintly soon after I bought it but it’s deffo louder now. It’s not loud by any means but I can tell it’s there

Sounds like a fan but putting all the HVAC off it’s still there. Stops immediately the engine is turned off. No run down noise so very much doubt it’s a fan. Is there a pump under the footwell maybe?

Nothing heard from outside or under the bonnet. X5 40d

Not the cooling fan for the media system? Mine runs for about 10 seconds after turned off.
