Radio again!!!

So this most system is a right pain in the arse! Orange light flashing black screen and I don’t think no one has actually found out on how to cure it? Any help would be appreciated. Also got the red light to the rear on the front screen so I think that could be the problem…question is I’ve seen loads of people saying you can’t replace it…is that? As the computer needs to register it or something??

For me (the first time), it was the BT module. I unplugged it and then used a bypass loop.

Second time was the traffic module-that took some diagnosing, but essentially i just looked to see which module the red light went into and didnt come out of.

Thanks mate. So I’ve already done the Bt module about 2 years ago and that was fine until Monday. Interesting with the traffic module but I ain’t even getting a red light in the rear at all. Got the red by the rear of the touch screen now stuck…is there any module between the front and rear? If anyone knows?? I know the 2010-2013 has a module under one of the seats but not sure if the 2007 does. Any help is greatly appreciated

Does anyone know how or where the most cables run?

Sorry no, I have only ever had to poke around the gubbins in the back.
I would guess they drop down the passenger side and along the sill area, but I am sure someone who really knows will be along shortly.

I’ve tried bypassing the tv saddling no red light. Took apart the dash and red light to the touch screen unit but nothing coming out so I made a link and the tested the IHU under the fuse box and the amber stayed on but still no screen still dead. Tested power and getting 14v when running on one cable. It’s almost like something is not telling to come on. As I’ve looked in the wiring diagrams it has part of a van bus line to it which apparently wakes it up so not sure if it’s something to do with that.

Also got another touch screen same code tried that and that was dead so definitely something else stopping it from coming on.

Can anyone recommend any Land Rover specialists in the Essex area to have a look at it?
Thanks

Hey thanks for that. So between the display and cd player I have a sliver box for an iPod connection which is odd apparently. One other thing I’ve noticed is that I’ve got no options on the info on the dash (instrument cluster) to select av on it’s been blanked out. I think something ain’t telling to switch on or rather that the cluster might be the problem

Yes it does. It’s a silver box and it’s between the cd changer and the head unit.

It's a long shot, but read this post I made last year when I sorted out my radio not working

"I recently purchased a 2006 L322. I knew when i purchased it that the radio did not work. The system was displaying the Land Rover logo and the orange light was flashing.

Research on here led me to believe it was the Bluetooth Module, so before investing in a new module I bought a fibre optic loop byepass, fitted it to the fibre optic plug going into the Bluetooth Module. The logo was still the same and the orange light was still flashing.

So I booked the car into a garage that specialised in Land Rovers and Range Rovers for diagnosis, they told me it was the TV module. I purchased a used TV module, it did not make any difference.

The car was subsequently booked into a Vehicle Electrics speciailist. They diagnosed the Harmo Kardon Logic 7 Amp, I purchased a replacement and fitted it and it did not solve the problem

My Icarsoft scanner was still saying it was a fibre optic fault so over the last few days I have taken the various components out and checked the Most Circuit starting with the Integrated Head Unit, the Touch screen display, the CD Changer and then the various components in the boot

All checks appeared to show the problem was with the CD Changer as the red light went into the CD changer but did not appear in the boot area. As the plug into the back of the CD Changer incorporates the power lead my fibre optic bypass loop would not fit. I therefore took the fibre optic cables out and connected them together with a piece of tube.

This showed that the red light now appeared in the boot area so I could discount a broken fibre optic cable.

I re-connected the fibre optic cables and plugged it back into the CD changer and once again there was no red light going into the boot.

The CD changer had been changed in the past as the car is a 2006 and the CD changer had a manufacturing date of 2015 on it, and it did power up when the power plug was plugged in so I did not think it was the CD unit that was the problem

After researching online and finding no answers i thought I would try removing the fibre optic cables from the CD Changer plug and swapping them over.

I fitted the power/fibre optic plug in the back of the CD changer after swapping the fibre optic leads over, turned the ignition on and hey presto, the radio came on !!! RESULT!!

Everything now works, radio, CD Sat Nav, Reversing Camera and Venture cam"

Thanks for that but sadly I think I’ve narrowed it down to a power problem. Basically I’ve got power to it but it needs power from the the cluster to wake it up and I’m not getting it. That’s why I have no av option on the cluster I think it’s gone up the duff or needs a software update. Apparently got to take it to somewhere that uses dealer diagnostics and not just normal gap iid or anything to update it. But trying to get someone in Essexand that does this is like gold dust lol. Asked before if anyone can recommend someone in Essex but no response
