The Holy Grail! - “Real Leather” scent Air Freshener

I have tried many so-called “Leather” air fresheners, being a sucker for that “new car” leather smell, but frankly, most have disappointed, smelling very little like proper new leather, or being hugely expensive.
(The large Gliptone ones are quite near the mark smell-wise but at £16 each for at best a few weeks, prohibitively expensive).

I recently stumbled on this product, and I have to say wow, the smell is spot on, and a similar cost to the Gliptone pads gets you a 250ml spray bottle of the stuff, -so much better value:

https://www.leatherrepaircompany.com/store/leather-air-freshener

As to how long it persists, time will tell but WTH, 250ml will go a long way in any case.

No connection other than as a new customer.

I suggest you at least give it a try if you are a leather fetishist like me! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Why not post your thoughts here to get a group opinion? Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Just fart less ... it'll smell nicer for longer that way ! Rolling with laughter

Oddly enough, I jumped in the car and it struck me that ever car I've had has a different underlying smell to it that regardless of air freshener, leather cleaner, interior dash cleaner, it always defaults back to. So I'm not sure what the all time real leather should smell like. V8 or else ...

Embarassed

How did you know? Shocked Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Hence the expression “Old Fart”, no doubt!

Trust me, ( if you can ever trust a Gremlin? Evil or Very Mad ) this stuff is the real deal, just get the little bottle as a tester. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

250ml was £11.50 plus £5 shipping. That’s the same price as a single “large” Gliptone pad approx 5” square which lasted me about 3-4 weeks and probably only contains 5-10ml of product, = highly expensive! 250ml is way more for the same price. It’s just something you have to try and make your own mind up about really. I decided to take a risk on 250ml and was pleasantly surprised, the smaller bottles are less good value, of course.

I regard myself as pretty picky/fussy type and will not recommend crap whatsoever.

Worth a punt, in my opinion. Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

By the way, I should add that I normally DETEST any air fresheners whatsoever in the car, I suffer from allergies and chronic rhinitis, and the usual “tarts boudoir” sickly air fresheners just make me sneeze my head off. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I am also a fan of the LRC ( Leather Repair Company) , and the air freshener they sell, I also buy the 250ml size, and use it on three cars - my L322 2004 and L322 2011, and a 1972 Jensen Interceptor

one bottle lasts about 10 months for all three cars, and it's a really fab product, been using it for many years and it's very pleasant indeed Smile

Just ordered the 250ml bottle.

That sounds just what I've been after.

OK, I'm persuaded, I'm going to give it a try.

I've been disappointed before with Chemical Guys Quick Detailer which they say has a leather scent, if it does I can't smell it. Also I bought some highly concentrated scent from The Little Leather Car Co. which was a waste of money. 2017 SDV8 Autobiography

One word of caution:

You’re not supposed to spray it directly ON the leather, only on carpets & fabrics!!

I use a old Gliptone card under the rear seat & just keep refreshing it from time to time Thumbs Up “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I spray it on my car mats, probably a little bit wasteful, friend of mine uses two old tennis balls in the rear doors, which also works remarkably well !
