Paranoia - it was this time! | |
I imagine this may be a common experience with owners on this forum (or indeed any RR owner).
On the way back from Wales with my son, just turning right off an A406 roundabout I noticed a clanking sound. As I drove, right, into my road I heard it again, more pronounced. And as I turn into my drive, again a right turn - there it was again! Hmm.. so either there's something under the car or a suspension issue or something is rolling about in the car. Probs the latter. So if I removed all the luggage and other stuff from the car that should be fine. Did a quick look under the car and couldn't see anything obvious. So if it was anything it's probably some very costly suspension related issue. Ah well will check it in the morning. Probably ok though.
So in the morning as I drove it around, same problem - loud clanking sound but this time when I turn both left and right and when I brake. Hmm, so maybe something in the car or I have huge suspension issue!
Had another rummage around the car and nothing loose I could see that could be making that noise. Ah well - I suppose I had a fair run - 2 years ownership and the first real issue. Hope it was gonna be under £2K to fix was my hope.
Then I remembered something. Two cans of Red Bull my son had brought along and put in the fridge compartment! Yup that was the source of the clanking noise! Relief. Still nothing gone wrong with old lady as yet!
Anyhow - sorry for this long post but just thought I expect many of us on this forum will have had similar paranoia - in some cases well founded and in others, like mine, a happy ending (for now!). L405 4.4 AB Loire Blue
