Is there a difference between hitch lock fitting?? I'm confused 😕

My caravan has the top fitting but looking at hitch locks they only seem to fit the bottom one

Hi,

are you talking about the towball? ISTR the difference is the alko compatible towball has a longer neck to move it away from the mounting plate so the casing around the hitch head does not foul, towball diameter is the same

Sorry perhaps I'm not being very clear, I'm looking to purchase a security lock for the top picture which is mine, but all I can find is locks for the bottom picture.

What I think you need to find is an Alko Type 2 lock.

Probably hens teeth but may you find one on gumtree or ebay. Even Alko could have a new old stock one lying about. May even be able to give you an alternative.
