Insurance renewal 2006 4.2

I thought I would be specific about my car as other posts here cover cars of all ages.

After 4 years of falling premiums I was expecting a big rise as others have covered.
When others posted about their huge rises in cost I ran searches across several comparison sites and expected to pay about £250, my renewal has just come so a quick comparison search repeated the £250 estimate I found back in January. On signing into my insurer (RAC) I found my renewal to be £200 so I am very happy.
For reference 66yo, retired, parked on drive in outskirts of Derby, 6000 miles pa

As an aside my home and contents with More Than doubled to £1000 a quick comparison search brought that back down to £500 so doubly happy

older FF's seem to have reasonable insurance rates but try a 2018 and then you'll be paying loads.. ... - .- -.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Causeway Grey

Just tried RAC quote, over £1000, good area, car on the drive, driver and spouse only fully comp, no previous claims full no claims discount and £600 excess.

Current renewal price with Axa, same cover, £600 ! which was the same as the lowest quote for similar cover offered on comparison sites so I'm staying with Axa ( £400 last year)

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

Last year when I insured my 4.2 the insurance on it was £191.

This year the renewal has come through for the 5.0 and at 37 years old, 14 years NCB, no claims, no points, no convictions in a trouble free postcode I’m struggling to get it below £500!

Still don’t think a touch over 500 is bad for what the car offers but I wasn’t expecting it to be 3 times what the 4.2 was. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

True, but I find that pressing that button to unlock the car is exhausting, I have to sit down to recover! Rolling with laughter Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged 2006
