United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Sumatra Black

I recently found a 54k late 2012 L322, 4.4TDV8.

Sublime to drive, the pulling power is tremendous. It genuinely feels quicker than my Audi A6 Avant with the Bitdi 313bhp engine (same bhp as my model L322)

I budgeted around 20k with 5k + put aside. Ones with the sort of mileage my one has are quite rare.

The biggest advice I took from our experienced members here was overall condition / MOT history / etc..etc. Forget about finding an exact spec SE/AB etc......just get the best condition as I mentioned. If its the spec you want (SE/AB) then thats just a bonus.

My was also MOT advisory free....

Go L322. Awesome.....

PS....It took me 4 months to find mine......

Thanks for this Steve, I have been looking for the past 12 months or so at what is about both RRFF and D4 now feel ready to take the plunge... Am off to look at a 2012 VSE tomorrow looks a good one but want to have a good look over it and check everything on it have checked all the previous MOTs and from that it looks promising, fingers crossed.

I'm 135K and 13 years into a D4. It's been superb really. I've had 3 - L322's (2 at the same time as the D4) and they've all been good.

I think sometimes it's just luck of the draw... And also I live 2 minutes from a great Indy (http://www.crossaxleservices.com/) free plug for Chris as he's a top bloke...

The only thing I'd say is that I always felt guilty throwing a couple of very wet labs in the back of the L322 whereas I don't think twice about throwing anything in the D4. Regards

So off on Saturday to pick up my new to me RR VSE got a nice 150 mile trip home hoping it will all go smoothly it's just had it's compressor serviced as it had a fault but is now fixed really looking forward to my first foray into FFRR ownership. Sure there will be lots of questions in coming months!

So go the car very happy with it so far. Has a few toys that I hadn't realised its got the 360 cameras and blind spot mirrors.

I need to buy a red insert that goes into the detachable tow bar when it's not in use, if anyone can point me in the right direct to buy one that would be great.

Only issue I have found is on the steering wheel adjustment I can move it up and down but it sounds like it's stripped the worm gear to move it forwards and backwards.

I also suspect that the air con compressor needs a replacement pressure valve as it can take a while to come on and at times has a mind of its own.

Beautiful looking car you got there. I am starting my search at the moment and am currently where you were a few months ago. Taking a while to find the “right” one as so many about, but each seems to have some sort of trade off from the other and feels little like rolling the dice. How are you getting on with yours in the first few months?

All going well done 4.5k miles over the summer without any issues just changed the oil and filters, a bit of preventative maintenance I changed the o-rings on the turbo oil feed pipe as was starting to weap a bit of oil. Love the car it's so comfortable and effortless and if you find a good maintained one millage means very little have seen ones with half the miles mine has and are complete trash as they just haven't been cared for. Take your time and the right one will come up especially at the minute with the London ULEZ expansion may will be offloading I reckon. Current

Great to hear it’s going well and you’ve been using it a fair bit so far.
I very much agree re the mileage comments and I’m taking a view of history and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Do you mind me
Asking what mileage you found yours with?
Also I see you’re based near me, are you using a specialist nearby for the work?

It had just under 117k when I bought it. I used Matt 4x4 in Cane End he has checked the car for me and will do all the big jobs that I don't want to do myself. Current

Brilliant. Thank you.
Based on budget or what I’d like to spend while keeping my other toy and having some cash aside for maintenance I’m looking at 100k miles plus with a good amount of maintenance work done to it
