EGR Sensor C circuit low - EGRs are blanked/mapped out

In theory my EGRs are not doing anything. They are physically blanked and in theory they are mapped out. Despite this there is a fault code that keeps coming up on IID Sensor C Circuit low.

If the EGRs have been mapped out, should/could this error still be reported?

Naturally it turns on the EML and as I understand it, it also affects MAF, potentially reducing MPG and possibly other things too. Range Rover Vogue SE L322 3.6TDV8 2008
